Privacy Policy

This page explains, in plain language, what PTE Speaking stores about you and why. It applies to everyone who uses the app, whether you're browsing as a guest or signed in with a real account.

What we store

• Practice attempts. Each time you submit a speaking answer, we store the question you attempted, the resulting scores and feedback, and enough of the transcribed text to show you that feedback later.
• A session token in your browser. Signing in — including as a guest — stores an authentication token locally in your browser so you stay signed in between visits. It identifies your session; it isn't a password.
• Guest sessions. If you haven't created a real account, you're using a guest session created automatically on your first visit. It behaves like a real account for practice purposes (your attempts and progress are saved against it) but isn't tied to an email address unless you later sign in with Google.
• Basic account details. If you sign in with Google, we store the account details Google shares with us (name, email) so we can identify you on return visits.

How we use your audio

When you record a speaking answer, that audio is sent to our scoring pipeline to produce the transcript and per-trait scores you see. We use it for that purpose — to give you feedback on that attempt — and to maintain and improve the scoring itself.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data. We don't share your practice attempts, scores, or account details with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

Your choices

You can practice as a guest without ever creating an account. If you'd like your data removed, or have any other question about what we hold, contact us and we'll sort it out.
